SIP & SEW SCRUNCHIES MAY 25 2PM-5PM

Learn how to use a sewing machine + sew up some stylish scrunchies at our SIP & SEW workshop! We'll show you the basics on a sewing machine, and you'll get to choose your own fabrics to make three scrunchies while sipping and chatting with fellow crafters. As a guest, you'll also receive 20% off the in-studio shop. No experience necessary, just bring yourself and your creativity!

In this workshop, we'll provide all of the materials and equipment for you to learn the basics of using a sewing machine and how to sew scrunchies. You'll get to choose your own fabrics from the existing Freon Collective catalog, or from a curated collection of fabrics only available to workshop participants (trust us, they're super cute).  You will also have the option of three different sizes of scrunchies to sew.

THE WORKSHOP

• We will give you a sewing machine demonstration and have you practice threading and sewing on a machine.
• You'll get to choose your fabrics + sizes for your scrunchies.
• We'll show you how to cut fabric, use a sewing pattern, and go through how to sew a scrunchie.
• All guests will work at their own pace to complete three scrunchies throughout the workshop.

Prerequisite: None! This is a beginner class, with more hands-on assistance from the workshop instructor.

This event is only open to adults 18+. Participants will receive one non-alcoholic beverage (Clever Mocktails, Parktake Brewing, coffee/tea). Guests will have the option of using their 20% discount at the shop on the day of the workshop, or have a one-time discount code emailed to them for future use in-person or online.

THE SPACE
This workshop takes place at our studio located at 276 Carlaw Avenue, Unit 217C where Freon Collective products are made. Our work table is standing or sitting height (with tall stools). We have four sewing machines for workshops with seating (2 per table).

CANCELLATION POLICY
Please notify us within 24 hours of the workshop if you need to cancel. All workshops are non-refundable, but we can provide you with credit for a future workshop or credit to shop online/in person. If you cancel within less than 24 hours or don't show up, you forfeit the cost of the workshop.

This workshop will only run with a minimum of 2 guests. In the event that we cancel a workshop, you will be notified within 24 hours and you will be offered a full refund or an alternative date to attend. 

FAQs
Can I bring my own machine?
In most cases, yes! Many guests want to learn how to use their own machine, so we would be happy to accomodate. Please email us to confirm prior to the workshop.

What if I already know how to sew?
You are definitely welcome to join! We'll still go through all of the sewing machine basics, but you might finish your scrunchies earlier than the rest of the guests.

All additional workshop details will be sent via email to you upon purchase and a day before the event begins.
